Fished BBT Central Valley Saturday March 29 water was coming up half inch a day water is pretty clear you can see down 2-3 feet. Water temp is 58-62 degrees. First thing in the morning fished top-water next to and on flats. Moved around main lake after sun came up. Bite was slow only caught 2 keepers almost non existent. At 8am started fishing jigs and darter-head worms. Fished shallow to get a small limit. Lots of 1lb to 1 1/4lb fish up shallow. In afternoon moved into windy gap and fished mud lines. Culled 3 times in mud line with spinner baits. At 2pm changed tactics again and went to a wacky rigged senko with a 1/8oz wacky jig-head. Paralleling the bank in 20 feet and letting the sinko fall all the way to the bottom. Working it slowly on the bottom. Culled 4 more times with 1 fish over 2lbs. Ran out of time and went to the weigh in with 8lbs. Caught over 40 fish all day. 10.00lbs won tournament 29 teams fished. Only 10 teams had a 2pound or bigger fish and we were only .10lbs out of making big fish money and 1.12lbs separated us in 13th to second place. I wish I would have gone deep earlier. Sinko’s being used were 5″ in color “Monster shad” only available at monsterfisingtackle.com if your not using them you should give them a try.
See you on the water,
