RB Bass Angler Alex Sanchez Wins 2016 California Bass Federation Angler of the Year title “Delta Region”.
This was Alex’s first year fishing the California Bass Federation; his goal throughout the year was to fish consistent. Being a draw tournament (Boater/Boater) format this would put everyone at an even playing field. Alex Sanchez showed up to the first Federation Tournament swinging for the fences and had a solid 2nd Place Finish, just ounces shy of the win. His two baits of choice were a River2Sea Biggie Poppa Square bill in the TW Craw and ½ oz Colorado/Indian River2Sea Bling Spinnerbait Cold Blooded Color.

The following two tournaments were just average finishes for Alex, a 9th Place finish in April along with 10th Place finish in May. Alex was still in the Top 3 for AOY points heading into the last tournament. June 5th was going to determine who gets crowned AOY. Last tournament of the year, Alex knew he had to weigh in close to 15 pounds to clinch AOY title. He made a huge gamble that morning running 1 hour to the south Delta to flip a 15 yard stretch of matted vegetation, Alex managed to catch 12 pounds of Delta Bass on a stingy Delta day. Although this was a small weight for the Delta it only took RB BASS Angler Austin Wilson 15 lbs to take the win o this day. Alex was able to finish well enough to earn the California Bass Federation AOY title for the Delta Region.
