Bass fishing on Lake Shasta is good right now. Early morning and late afternoon you can go after big fish. I have been throwing the 8″ JB Customs Sly Dog. It has been producing some very nice fish. I have also been having my clients throw whopper ploppers, vixens and super spooks. An hour after light gets on the water the topwater bite slows down. I then switch up and start throwing lipless cranckbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs and senkos. The fish are pretty schooled up right now. There are fish deep and fish shallow but I have been mainly targeting shallow fish. Long flat points, island tops and rock walls have been producing fish really well. Hope these tips help you out on the water your next trip out.
