Spent a few days on Lake Camanche. Arriving later in the morning each day I decided to fish bottom baits vs reaction. I focused on humps that lead to spawning bays that are protected from the North winds . I was in 12-25 ft to start . This was a good choice as I got bit right away . The hump’s were holding spotted bass , but it seemed these fish were spooky you can get a bite or two then they shut off, I would leave and come back to get a few more bites.
As the day warmed up I went shallower 8-12 ft deep , this is where I caught some Largemouth and a mix of Spotted Bass. Fish ranged 2-4 lbs over both days. The key is finding the cobble rock mixed with buck brush leading to Spawning areas.
Hope this info helps out on your next trip to Lake Camanche.
