RB Bass Outdoors Angler Spencer Leighton and his partner Tony Bolman fished in the Shasta Cascade ABA ( American Bass Association) tournament at Whiskeytown Lake on this past weekend February 10th and manage to place 4th with 21,39 pounds. Here is what Spencer had to say about how their tournament went.
“We started the morning crisp and cold 32 degrees, water temps were 48 to 50 degrees and a five to seven mile an hour wind from NE !! We were the ninth boat out praying no one was in our spot!! Luckily we had it to ourselves. I used a dropshot rig paired with a 6 inch Aarons Morning Dawn Robo worm. My partner was throwing an umbrella rig paired 3 inch keitech swimbaits. We worked a cove 30-40 ft deep for our first two fish then moved to the long narrow points running out of cove deep to catch our other three fish. All our fish were caught deep their bellies had mud stuck to them so they were glued to the bottom. Man what a great day on Whiskeytown Lake!! Tony Bolman and I worked hard today and it paid off!! The spotted bass are healthy!!! 21 pound bag today can’t ever complain about that!! A huge shoutout to Matt Bavers for putting on some great ABA Shasta Cascade tourneys!! ”
Congratulations to RB Bass Outdoors angler Spencer Leighton and his partner Tony Bolman on their 4th place finish out of 18 teams with some absolute hammers in the field.
