In competitive bass fishing one of the main goals is to preserve our fish and the fisheries we fish. One of the ways we do that is by having live release boats at the weigh ins. Once anglers have weighed in they take their fish straight to the live release boat which are equipped with holding tanks that are well aerated to keep oxygen pumping into the water. Once the tanks reach a decent amount of fish the live release boat then travels offshore 2 miles to release the fish back into the lake. In the bottom of each of the holding tanks is a release door that drops the fish right out of the bottom for less handling of the fish. In this video RB Bass Outdoors angler Bob Tyler does a walk through of the Live Release Boat for the Bass Angler Magazine Bass Angler Tournament Trail which has its first tournament tomorrow February 10th on Clear Lake Ca out of Konocti Vista casino. Check out this video and see how a release boat is setup.
