Tyler Hurney Joins RB Bass – NxGen
We are thrilled to announce that Tyler Hurney has joined our RB Bass – NxGen team! Tyler is a Delta local but seems to catch them everywhere he goes. Tyler has already established himself in the high school fishing scene as a stand out and he plans on keeping his momentum rolling when he joins his brother on the Chico State Fishing Team after he graduates from high school.
Tyler is the 3x reigning California High School Angler of the year and hopes to seal the deal on a 4th this year. In addition to his back to back to back Angler of the year awards he is also a 4 Time Highschool National Championship qualifier, 2019 California Junior state Champion, 2019 MLF HS Delta Champion, Junior World Championship qualifier, 5 MLF top 10 finishes, 33 top 10 finishes, 23 top 5 finishes, and six 1st place finishes. Now that is one amazing run this young man is on. It is pretty easy to see why he is going to be a very valuable addition to our NxGen team.

Future College/Prospective Colleges: Chico State University
Focus of Study in College: Construction Management Major
Favorite Fishery: I enjoy the challenge of the California Delta and knowing that any cast can be a giant.
Favorite Technique: I like throwing chatter baits and spinnerbaits because I feel like I can get more quality bites on them. I also like catching them on baits my brother makes.
Confidence Bait: I feel like I can slow down and catch one on a dropshot in any situation in any body of water.
Favorite Anglers: Scott Martin, Jacob Wheeler, Brandon Palaniuk, My Dad, and Brother
Fishing Goals:
- Earn Angler of the Year again this season
- Fish on a college bass team
- Fish professionally
